our own government has escalated to murdering u.s. citizens and immigrants alike.
in public.
in broad daylight.
the people in power will never willingly give us the empathy and humanity we deserve, because that requires them giving up power.
we cannot reform a system that continues to benefit from the fear they instill in our communities.
if you're not screaming abolish ice with the rest of us, you don't deserve peace.
your marginalized friends, family members, and neighbors don't have the privilege of knowing what peace feels like.
instead of policing their response to their threat to safety, please try and understand what it must feel like to walk in their shoes everyday.
reach out, talk to them, ask them. they're not asking you to live in it. they just want your understanding of it so we can help their fight for it.
